Convocation Key

convocation

Convocation is a tradition at Loyola that symbolizes the start of a journey, the start of an extraordinary life. For Convocation, all first year students gather on the East Quad, and then, walk through the doors of the Cudahy Library, doors that are only opened for Convocation and Graduation. We walk around campus and end in the arena, where we then hear from a speaker. At my Convocation, Colin Beavan, the author of No Impact Man, spoke about sustainability and living for others. In addition, first year students receive their Convocation key. The key is a symbol that unlocks so much, and here at Loyola, educators and staff try to unlock our potential.

Above is a word cloud that incorporates words that I associate with my Convocation and first year experience.
