During my third year at Loyola, I continued to hold leadership positions at Loyola, but I also pushed myself to gain work experience in Chicago. I interned with the volunteer relations department at Catholic Charities. Through this internship, I was engaged first hand in social justice issues. Loyola has taught me to question who the world needs me to be.
It was also during this year when Chicago experienced a brutal freezing cold winter. While at some points along my walk to class in below zero temperatures I may have questioned my decision to live in Chicago, I always knew Loyola was the right place for me.
