Xiamara Hohman is a third-year PhD student in Modern Literature and Culture with a focus on Modern Poetry. She is the current Vice President of the English Graduate Student Association and a Lead Tutor at the Loyola Community Literacy Center. In 2010, she received her MA in English from the University of Dayton. From 2011-2013, she taught at Zhejiang Normal University in Jinhua, Zhejiang, China. Upon her return to the United States, she was awarded a Lectureship in Composition and ESL at the University of Dayton, where she taught from 2013-2016. Her most recent publication, "Lessons from the Middle Kingdom: Pedagogical Approaches to Fostering Greater Classroom Participation among Chinese Learners of English," was published in the Fall/Winter 2015 edition of the Ohio Journal of English Language Arts.
