Context: I completed this science safety agreement fur my students during student teaching in the spring of 2006. This artifact was used during a lesson introducing the Scientific Method to Fourth and Fifth grade students who were preparing for the Science Fair.
Impact: I will be able to use the agreement sheet in my future classroom to address the issue of science safety as well as classroom safety.

Standard 13: This artifact integrates health and safety into a science lesson. Through out the contract, students learn skills that contribute to good health and are then able to put them into practice within the science classroom.
Standard 17-1: Because this artifact is a portion of a lesson on science safety, I am ensuring that safety issues are included in instruction and that I provide supervision during laboratory activities and field experiences.
Standard 17-3:This artifact demonstrates that I am aware and comply with the science Safety Laws, Codes, and Standards because it addresses many of them throughout the artifact itself.
Standard 17-4: Because I sent this contract home with each student, I was able to communicate appropriate safety behaviors to my students.
