While Tyler has only been a member of the Loyola community for a few years, he has been part of numerous organizations and has held a variety of positions. Majority of his involvement has been serving on the different governing bodies within the University, at large, as well as within the Divisions of Student Development and Academic Affairs.

He has served on the Unified Student Government Association (USGA), passionately voicing the concerns on the Student Body. Tyler's presence on the Board of Undergraduate Studies (BUS), an academic body that makes recommendations to the Provost, is one filled with student voice. In addition, he was one of the first undergraduate members to serve on the newly formed Provisional University Senate. Tyler currently serves on Loyola's Board of Trustees as a student representative. To help welcome incoming freshmen, he helped lead, facilitate and plan many programs as a Welcome Week Leader. Determined to make the Loyola Greek experience better, Tyler took on the role of President of the Interfraternity Council.

University Senate

Senator | May 2012 - Present

The University Senate is comprised of key stake holders in all areas of the university including administrators, faculty, staff, and students. It convenes bimonthly to discuss pertinent issues facing the university. Tyler works closely with administrators, faculty, staff, and students on a regular basis to best meet the needs of all parties involved. In this role he also collaborates with several campus partners throughout the Loyola community. To find our more, click here.

Academic & Research Committee and Budget & Strategic Planning Committee

Tyler was selected by the vice president for student development to be one of five undergraduate members to represent more than 1,900 students. He served on the Academic & Research Committee. The Committee was charged with evaluating the University's position on Adult Learning and On-line courses. Tyler currently serves on the Budget and Strategic Planning Committee where he and the committee engage in conversations and analyze the budget and stategic vision of the University. We also gather data and information to report back to the larger Senate body.

For the 2012-2013 academic year Tyler was awarded the Hayes Scholarship. After a process, Tyler was selected to have a video created about his life. This video was created for Loyola's Access to Excellence, a scholarship campaign that seeks to raise funds for endowed scholarships. Click here for more information.
