After making our asset maps, we had to write a reflection about asset-based community development and how it pertained to our internship. It was easier to think about the assets and deficits of our organizations after making the map for our Chicago neighborhood. It allowed me to take what I learned in the asset map assignment and use it to reflect on Misericordia. This reflection let me identify my role in community development and how I was specifically helping the disabled population in Rogers Park.
