The Pruden Center is home to several FIRST academies (Fostering Innovation and Relevance through STEM and Trades). Students are able to to receive rigorous academic instruction in their career and technology courses, and see the applicability of that instruction. The first lesson plan attached in this section was created during professional development at The Pruden Center. The STEM ties are outlined above the lesson plan about euthanasia. The second lesson plan attached is the pharmacology lesson plan. STEM ties are highlighted on page three.
The first lesson plan submitted as an artifact covers workplace readiness. The highlighted SOL ties are located on the right side of the table. A copy of the “Reading With a Purpose” exercise described in the lesson plan is also attached. The second lesson plan is on asepsis in the veterinary hospital.
