Artifact 51 - evidence of teacher serving as mentor to other teachers

Several schools throughout the state have visited the classroom or emailed the Veterinary Assistant instructor seeking input during the planning stages of their programs in veterinary science or small animal care.  These programs have included New Horizons in Newport News, Hermitage Technical Center in Henrico County, Blacksburg high school, and Rowanty Technical Center in Carson, Virginia.  The instructor has corresponded over the years with new program instructors about recommended text material, supplemental materials, and teaching methods.

The instructor has served as team leader or point of contact to other teachers at The Pruden Center during professional development.  Most recently the instructor will be responsible for mentoring staff in project based learning, and worked with teachers on developing lesson plans utilizing differentiated instruction techniques.
