Being Latino in America Today

Being Latino in America Today
Immigrants have made the US, the diverse country it is today. Over the centuries, the US became a home to many self-driven and hardworking people. Several of the most recognized people who migrate to the US include, Albert Einstein, Sergey Brin, Oscar de la Renta, Isabelle Allende, and Arnold Schwarenegger. There is no doubt that these people possessed so much potential when they immigrated the the US, and one thing that they all have in common is that they were seeking something greater than what their native countries were able to offer them. Miguel and Guadalupe below, are also immigrants who arrived to the US over 20 years ago in search of a better home. Their stories are so distinct, but similar in many ways. The last question we asked all the people we were able to interview was, "Where do you consider home to be?". This question is quite simple for American citizens who have lived in the US their entire life. But, for a person who left their native country at a young age, settled in the US, and had to learned a new language, culture, and lifestyle the questions is not so simple. Both Miguel and Guadalupe consider Mexico and the US their home! They do not deny the US provided them with so many opportunities, and a couple of injustices. But, they are also unable to deny their roots- Mexico.
