Welcome to World History, the required course for sophomores in the Social Studies department. This course provides students with a global perspective emphasizing the world’s diversity and the development of human societies. The course will survey ancient and classical civilizations and major periods of exchange and advancement and provide an emphasis on developments impacting the modern world. Through a variety of classroom activities, it will also serve as an introduction into upper-level academic skills such as taking notes, utilizing various sources of information, taking tests, researching, etc.
