Humanities I Art H (8776, American Culture and Art)
Focuses on artistic production within the United States. Coverage includes basic visual literacy concepts and the historical development of art movements from the Colonial period to the present; incorporating creative expressions of American values and beliefs in art and culture. Designed to give the junior Humanities student an introductory art history course.
Humanities II Art H (8876, History of Art)
Designed to give the senior Humanities student a college-level introductory Art History class in the high school setting by studying the painting, sculpture and architecture of various western and non-western cultures throughout history. Emphasis will be placed on cultural history as well as the artistic representation of the human experience.
Humanities II AP Art History (1882, AP Art History)
Introduces the history of art (painting, sculpture, and architecture) by examining art from prehistoric times through the Post-Modern period. Also introduces non-Western art styles and forms (Asia, the Mid East, Africa and Native America), as well as basic visual literacy concepts. Prepares students for the AP Art History exam.
World History (5120)
Provides students a global perspective emphasizing the world's diversity and the development of human societies. The course will survey world civilizations and major periods of exange and advancement and provide an emphasis on developments impacting the modern world.
