I created an English Language Arts lesson plan that will meet this standard. This lesson integrates students' previous knowlede, is student centered, meets reading and writing standards, and includes the community in the learning process. Title of Lesson: Reading and Writing with News and Cards
Content To Be Taught: Using thank you, birthday, condolence, and get-well cards students will recognize that cards are written for different people and events containing personal experiences and opinions. Each student will be provided with a news article to read and respond to relating to the text with personal experiences and opinions.
