Standard 4 - ASSESSMENT

Welcome to Standard 4-Assessment. In this area you will be connected to all of the completed work that meets the different content areas of the Association for Childhood Education International Elementary Education (ACEI), Standard 4. Below you can see a description of the standard.

I have provided two different examples of assessment in this standard. The first form is from my learning center created as an extension of my lesson plan titled "Spiraling Stars". In the learning center I have provided a rubric for what I expect the students to complete on their own. The rubric includes how their work will be graded. Another form of assessment included in this standard is an example of informal assessment. In the lesson titled, "House of Seasons", I taught with four other teacher candidates, about the presence of water in our seasons. Throughout the activity we walked around the classroom observing the students' work. We asked discussion questions during and after the activity, but nothing was graded. We were able to see from their final product if they were able to understand the presence of water in all four seasons.

The two separate forms of assessment are attached at the bottom of this page as a Word Document and PDF file.
