So you're about to go out into "the field" an do some mentoring. Great. But there are some things you need to know so that you don't find yourself in trouble.
As an EDF 203 student I will expect you to begin thinking "like a teacher" as opposed to thinking "like a student."
Among other things...that means dress professionally.
Also, we advise Teacher Education Program candidates not to discuss anything they observe while in the schools. Be aware that federal law prohibits the sharing of personally identifiable information.
To help assure that our candidates understand the potential pitfalls of loose talk about students, EKU requires that candidates receive training in confidentiality before they go into the field.
In this module you will review a PowerPoint on the topic and take a test to demonstrate your understanding (In Lecture Class). When you successfully complete the training print the certificate and have your lab professore sign. Carry with you - just in case there are questions from teachers or principals where you visit. Scan and keep an electronic copy of this form with you through your degree program and use for all field experience, especially in Madison County.
