Guinea Pig Experiment

This experiemnt was to explore the idea that music impacts the learning of guinea pig.  Our maze is built and so far we are having a bit of dificulty training our guniea pigs!  Part of learning is finding out what works and what doesn't; and why it doesn't work.  Currenty we have realized that our training sessions are not working and are now developing additional ideas on what to do about that.  Stay tuned....

Chicken Experiment

Thank you to all the parents who helped out with the science project!  A special thank you to the Sergeant family for bringing chicks for us to work with!! Below is a power point that the class made about our projecct.  Our science fair is next week on Thursday and we've been invited to a science fair at Centenary College an Satuday April 27th from 9-12:00.

Hamster Experiment

Parents,

Please see the attached investigation.  We have 21 students working together to complete 2 mazes and teach 2 different hamsters how to run a maze.  Therefore, each child will be assigned a group which will work on one job.  Each job is vital to the whole investigation.  But not everyone can train the hamsters, design, or build...etc..  We will need to function in the form of two teams.  The attached hamster lesson is given so that everyone is aware of what we're doing before we start.  Remember that you will need to pick up your child at 4:45 for the next 4 Wednesdays.  During that time your child is expected to maturally cooperate with their group, teacher, and adults who are helping out.  If at any time there is too much disruption then I will ask that child to kindly not participate.  This is an extra activity that I'm offering after school and need everyone's full cooperation for the success of our science fair project.  I very much appreciate your help, support, and understanding!

Remember to send notes on Wednesdays to allow your child to stay after school until 4:45.

Dates:  February 15, 22, 29, and March 7th.  3:30-4:45.  You sign out your child and pick up him or her at the front doors.  Thank you!

Ant Experiment 2011

See the attached parent letter.  This experiment will be done after school.

Light and Sound 2010

Find your group folder to complete the science report.  Type the result that you printed on your science reports from last weeks experiments. Groups 1 and 2  will need to first do some research and then type the results found last week from the experiment.  Once your group has been checked by the teacher, you may print your results.
