I try to make a warm, welcoming atmosphere for my students. I want each student to feel that they can contribute something to the class by displaying every students' artwork and highlighting the accomplishments of every individual.
Students know what is expected of them when the rules are posted in the front of my classroom, and I use the acronym "ART" to sum up the rules (being Attentive, Respectful, and Trying your best.) This helps keep behaviors on-track.
