Add an Announcement

This section of the tutorial will discuss how to add announcements onto your web page.

Announcements are a great way to quickly communicate with students and parents. 

Announcements include test dates, quiz dates, and any other reminders.

To add an announcement you must be logged into your E-Chalk account (see login tab).

Click on My Classes

Click on Homepage

On your home page look for the section Announcement

To add an announcement click on the link Add an important announcement

Now you have some options for your announcement. 

You can choose when you want the announcement to show on your page.  This can be done in the Post drop down menu.  If you select always, then the announcement will be on the page at all times.  You may only want the post to last certain amount of time, for example an announcement for an upcoming quiz, you can have it post until the date of the quiz.

The next section is the Text.  This is the area where you type in your announcement. 

Next click on the classes or courses you want the announcement to post to.

Click Save

You have successfully uploaded your announcement when it appears in the Announcement section.
