Creating a Web Page

This section of the tutorial will discuss how to setup and create a web page.  This is the first step and needs to be completed before any other area can be created.

Login

To begin first login to your echalk account (see Login Tab)

 

Click on "My Classes"

Now you have to set up a class or section.  To do this click "Create a Class"

Once at the create a class screen, you need to set up your own personal class.  Under the "Subjects and Courses" tab, look for the subject you teach.  If it is not there, simply click Select Other Subjects & Courses

The next step is to select the course or classes you teach.  You can create a general class like Mathematics, or be specific like Algebra I.  Once you have the subjects or courses selected, click the add button.  When you are completed, click OK.

This will bring you back to the Create a Class Screen.

Next you need to make your web page public, this will allow parents and students to view your web page at home.

To do this, mark "Public to the Internet" in the drop down menu under Visibility.

Next click start

The final step is to complete a class profile.

There are many options you can add if you wish, but the following fields are required:

  • Class Name
  • Term start date
  • Check that your name appears at the bottom next to Taught by
  • Select your grade level
