About Rubrics

Scoring rubrics guide assessment in a reliable, fair and valid manner by measuring the quality of work or performance against a set of publicly-shared criteria. The combination of fair assessment and comments make the rubric a formative assessment tool that provides both student and teacher with insight in how to proceed with subsequent learning/teaching.

In LAT, rubrics are commonly used as an evaluation method for DRF work and are created via the Rubric Wizard tool.
