Standards play an important role in my classroom because they can help me to create lessons to help students learn what they need to learn to further their own education and it helps me, as a teacher, to know what students need to know by the  time they leave my classroom. They are also guidelines for me to follow on how I can improve in my classroom and in my lesson planning. These standards, like everything else in the world, is forever changing and teachers need to always be up to date in the classroom so that their students don't fall behind.
