Planning and Organizing Tools

Planning and organization tools can help keep the classroom, the teacher, and the students oragnized. These tools can help to keep the classroom and the day running smoothly, and includes:

  • Outlining Tools and Concept Mapping Software
  • Lesson Planning Software
  • Scheduling, Calendar, and Time Management Tools

Outlining Tools and Concept Mapping Software

Outlinging tools are tools that assist students with writing, by helping them create electronic outlines when writing a paper. These tools can be helpful for students who have trouble starting or finishing a paper, and can be used as a brainstorming tool, as well as keeping the paper organized throughtout, allowing students to see where they should put a certain sub topic in a paper. Concept mapping software can be used by students to explore ideas or topics by developing a concept map.

Lesson Planning Software

Not all teachers rely on their lesson plans to get through the lesson. Some teachers know what they want to teach and may only loosely follow their lesson plans. Howver, there still needs to be documentation when it comes to planning your lessons. If someone is observing a teacher's classrom, the observer should be able to find a physical lesson plan and see what is being taught and what are the main objectives for the day. Lesson plans may sometimes be a pain to write up, but when you use lesson planning software, it can be a whole lot faster and easier. This type of software has the teacher follow prompts to input information so that the program can create the lesson plan for the teacher to print out.

Scheduling, Calendar, and Time Management Tools

Between lesson planning, grading, home life, and more, teachers have a lot to do on a daily basis. To make sure they don't forget anything, teachers may use calendars and other time management tools to manage their day to day life. Although there are physical planners that can be used to write down to-do lists and appointments, it may be hard to remember to look in the planner to see what you've got to do for the day. Opting for a planner that is on your phone can be a great idea. Not only will it be always on you, but you can also set alarms to remind you when you need to hurry to an appointment or pick up dinner on the way home.
