Context:
This lesson plan was created in the Fall of 2007, under the advisement of Dr. James A. Bryant for Social Studies Instruction in the Elementary Classroom (CI 3110). The lesson was intended to address a controversial issue, the Iraq War, and its causes. This plan follows a lesson plan method called the White Head Method, involving a Romance section to hook the student interest, a Precision section to teach them the material, and a Generalization section for them to apply what they have learned.
Impact:
Through this lesson students will be given a chance to learn about the causes of the Iraq War. With this they will learn about the culture of the people in the Middle-East, as well as governmental policy. Students will be given the opportunity to ask questions, and develop their own understanding of the war, its implications, and causes.
