Facilitator and Learner

This assignment meets the standards by focusing on the roles of learners and teachers in several different articles and then applies the concepts to the teacher's classroom. The role of a teacher and learner need not always be the stereotype of the teacher giving directions and lecturing and the student sitting and passively learning. The roles can be be reversed so that the teacher facilitates and the learner guides their own learning, leading to a sense of ownership of the learning for the student.
AZ- Arizona's Professional Teacher Standards
Standard 2: The teacher creates and maintains a learning climate that supports the development of students' abilities to meet Arizona's academic standards.The performance assessment shall measure the extent to which the teacher:
Assessed performance 5: Facilitates people working productively and cooperatively with each other
Assessed performance 6: Provides a motivating learning environment
Assessed performance 7: Promotes appropriate classroom participation
