b.  Identify the artifacts in your portfolio that support your definition. (Note: The artifacts should be attached in the Appendix)

Rubric Prompt E1b. The candidate identifies the artifacts in the portfolio that support the definition.

Rubric Prompt E1b.i. The candidate provides a logical explanation, with substantial detail, of how the artifacts support the definition from part E1.

2.  Summarize (suggested length of 1 page) your Community and Population Health task by doing the following: To write this abstract, you will need to be finished or nearly finished with your practicum. This abstract will be easier to write if you have written your practicum paper first, as this abstract directly relates to that work.  To prepare to write this abstract, think about how everything you learned about Community Health in both courses has brought you to your final practicum task, where you have assessed a community, formulated a diagnosis, and refined it, leading to your recommendations for interventions.  Refer to materials from both   Community and Population Health courses (didactic and practicum) as needed.

a.  Discuss what you learned during your Community Health Nursing task.

Rubric Prompt E2a. The candidate provides a logical discussion, with substantial detail, of what the candidate learned during the Community Health Nursing task.

Summarize what you learned about your community throughout both courses.

b.  Discuss how what you learned led to your community diagnosis.

Rubric Prompt E2b. The candidate provides a logical discussion, with substantial detail, of how what was learned led to the candidate's community diagnosis.

How did the information that you learned led you to the specific diagnosis you worked with?  Clearly state what your diagnosis was.

c.  Discuss how your initial focus and diagnosis evolved after working with your population.

Rubric Prompt E2c. The candidate provides a logical discussion, with substantial detail, of how the candidate's initial focus and diagnosis evolved after working with the population.

As you began talking with people in the community, how did the focus of your diagnosis shift? For example, did you uncover some contributing factors you hadn’t expected? Did you have some preconceived ideas about what interventions were needed that were disproved or changed as you worked with your community?

3.  Discuss the importance of the American Museum of Natural History (AMNH) certificate for your future role as a professional nurse.

Rubric Prompt E3. The candidate provides a logical discussion, with substantial detail, of the importance of the AMNH certificate for the candidate's future role as a professional nurse.

Reflect on the content of your AMNH course “Genetics, Genomics and Genethics”. Describe how this content could impact your future role as a professional nurse. If it has been a long time since you took the course, you can either go back to it if you still have access to it. The AMNH course was a learning activity in the “Care of the Older Adult” course. Refer back to that coursework, as some of your work may have been related to posting discussions in the online community about the content.

·        How might a professional nurse use the principles of genetics, or genethics or genomics in practice or work setting?

·        Consider your personal career path.  How might it apply to your practice area now or in your future?
