Liz Kappenman is a senior at Loyola University Chicago studying Biology with a minor in Bio Statistics. She is looking to go to dental school and join her father’s and brother’s dental practice in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. She is looking to use her year off to work for a non-profit in Ghana, Africa helping to develop the service programs throughout the country. She was first attracted to Global Brigades for the work they do within the communities by utilizing the skills of the university students. She would like to get involved in connecting the American community to Ghanaian community and making the development of Ghana a primary concern for US society. One day she hopes that Global Brigades is a household name and the stigmas of African culture are dissolved and a true understanding for the communities can be realized.
