Responsible for advising the pre-health student body at Loyola University on issues relating to course selection, applying to health professional schools and building an effective candidacy for health professional schools. Also responsible for generating committee letters for applicants to medical, dental optometry and podiatry schools after evaluations of the Pre-Health Professions Advisory Committee are submitted. A voting member of the Pre-Health Professions Advisory Committee, Post-Baccalaureate Application Review Committee, Pre-Health Award Committee, and the Early Assurance Program Committee.
Responsible for overseeing the application process for undergraduate research opportunities; Adminsters the Provost Fellowship and its subsideraries, with 100 student fellows conducting research across the curriculum; Coordinates and manages the annual Undergraduate Research and Engagement Symposium during Loyola's annual Weekend of Excellence; Oversees and adminsters the annual research awards including the Outstanding Undergraduate Researcher Award, The Outstanding Graduate Student Mentor Award and the Langerbeck Outstanding Research Mentor Award for faculty. Develops and presents workshops throughout the academic year focused on various research related topics such as: How to Make an Effective Poster Presentation; Producing Effective Oral Presentations; How to Write Research Proposals and How to Apply to Research Fellowships; Present to various student groups about the Undergraduate Research Programs at Loyola; Teach EXPL 391 Introduction to Research Theories and Methods.
Responsible for overseeing and managing the library and bookstore ordered text books for each quarter; developed programming to increase library use; oversaw acquisition of materials for library, supervised a staff of eight on a daily basis; responsible for budget of $120,000 annually; sat as member of Academic Council, responsible for directing, planning, and implementing the course of the Academic Department.
