Quality and safety are very important in performing our nursing duties. Minimizing risk of harm to patients and providers through system effectiveness and individual performance is our duty. We have to minimize human error and recognize our duty to report for the quality and safety of our patients. We need to demonstrate effective use of technology in standardization practices that support again quality and safety. We have learned the value of relationships between national safety campaigns and implementation in our local organization. An example that I perform in my nursing field is that I am required to do several in services on quality and safety. These requirements keep me up to date with new policies and procedures always ensuring quality patient care with safety in mind.  WGU has helped me to increased my knowledge and awareness and the importance of quality and safety.
