Rationale for Group Goals
The rationale for group goals is to increase group members volition within their physical and social environments through the use of occupations that promote health and wellness and provide modified techniques to decrease cancer related symptoms such as fatigue and social participation.
Short Term Goals:

Group members will independently increase social participation by actively seeking out other members to interact with during activities within one session.

Group members will independently demonstrate learned skills on how to use at home exercises in order to increase strength and flexibility and reduce the affects of fatigue for completion daily tasks.

Group members will identify three safety techniques during a cooking activity with minimal guidance from group leaders

Group members will sustain participation for 10 minutes during yoga/dance activities to promote increased endurance over time.
Long Term Goals:

Group members will independently utilize learned energy conservation techniques to decrease fatigue by the conclusion of Club Discovery.Group members will independently be able to incorporate learned skills from Club Discovery to use in their daily lives through taught stress reduction, nutritional education and sleep health in order to improve every day overall quality of living.

Group members will increase ability (cognitively, emotionally and physically) to interact with others and adapt to different environmental situations by the conclusion of Club Discovery

Group members will demonstrate the ability to safely incorporate sensory information into purposeful and successful interaction during a cooking task. Sensory information is interpreted by all the senses including touch (tactile system) sight (visual system), hearing (auditory system), smell (olfactory system and balance or equilibrium (vestibular system).

Group members will participate/engage in 30-minute movement based activities that promotes strength, flexibility and endurance through exercises and dance in 5 weeks.
