Outcome Methods

Methods used include participant observations by occupational therapy student (OTS) leads, weekly participant self-rating using a checklist completed by at the end of each group session by participants, OTS rating scales completed at the end of each weekly session completed by the leads, weekly discussions among OTS leads and supervisory facilitator/professor post group session and weekly reflective journals completed by the OTS leads based on each individuals experience facilitating the groups.  At the conclusion of each session, group members will complete a check list questionnaire/survey in order to provide OTS leads with feedback on how they felt the sessions provided them with new knowledge and if they would utilize this knowledge outside of the group.

Outcome criteria will be used to measure group members level of participation and satisfaction in group activities. This measure will also demonstrate if there is an increase in group members social participation, perception in ability to perform activities within the group and intend to help carry over these perceptions for increased social participation and overall well being outside of group sessions. The outcome measure will help provide information to the OTS leads with regards to if group members show an increase in all areas above at the completion of 5 group sessions.
