About Me

Hello.  I love teaching students!  I can't imagine having any other job!  I believe that all children have an intrinsic desire to learn, the excitement generated around learning sometimes seems to stop time for me.

I grew up in Weare, NH in a family of seven kids.  I now live in Henniker with my husband, Jim, and daughter, Hannah.  We have three cats (including the most expensive three legged "money" cat), and two dogs now, but until recently we have had a horse, pony, goats and other small critters.  I love to read, garden, walk my dogs, practice and teach Tai Chi, as well as spend time with my family.

I went to UNH for my degree, hiked the Appalachian Trail, and then went back to UNH for my teaching certification. I am certified K-8 and K-6 Highly Qualified Teaching Status. Currently I am pursuing my Alternative III certification for middle school math.  I just took my Praxis II test for middle school math and passed!

"Once children learn how to learn, nothing is going to narrow their mind.

The essence of teaching is to make learning contagious,

to have one idea spark another."
