Language Arts 2A

Language Arts 2A will cover writing, grammar and usage, speaking and listening skills, spelling, and vocabulary with an emphasis on Latin and Greek prefixes and suffixes. Students will also study elements of several types of poetry.  They will also study units of fiction, and non-fiction, which include short stories, novels and biographies.   Graphic organizers and rubrics will be used to facilitate writing across the curriculum.  Parents are responsible for signing monthly reading calendars, to ensure students are reading on a regular basis.  The best way to become a better reader is to read!  Students will also respond to literature that is read in class and to their self selected choices that they read throughout the year.
