Service

As I discussed in my philosophy section, service is something that has always been present in my life.  The first service experience I really dug deep in was during high school when I volunteered at Loyola University Medical Center.  In some ways it seems ironic that my service began with Loyola, but in the same light, it is extremely fitting.  After accumulating over 1,000 hours of direct service, I proudly wore a pin with the word MAGIS inscribed on it.  Magis means "the more" and I find this fitting for my service experiences.

While I'll argue that doing more isn't always beneficial to an individual or an organization, I believe that being more can be extremely rewarding for both an individual and organization.  This is the attitude I carry into my service, giving back to a profession that has given so much to me, personally and professionally.
