Brief Introduction of the media project – The value of using this type of media in education would be to slowly introduce children into the artistic sides of technology without being too overwhelmed. The specific literacy issues that this media will help to address would be teaching children about adjectives and helping them to understand that they are describing words, and since the activity will be completed via MS Word the students can be more focused on the actual content of the lesson as opposed to being stressed about whether or not their hand writing is good enough or their spelling is correct because MS Word fixes all of those problems. I feel as if there would not be any ethical or social issues with the implementation of this lesson, it's simple and intrapersonal.
Specifically identify one or two goals/objectives: 1. Creativity and Innovation: b. Create original works as a means of personal expression.
Subject matter – What is (are) the subject matter(s)? Does integration of subject matters take place? How has this media project addressed cultural responsiveness teaching? The subject matter for this activity would be literacy along with technology, therefore integration of the subject matter does take place.
What learning styles will most likely be attracted to this media creation? I feel that Howard Gardner's Multiple intelligences can be tied into this activity because it allows the children to create something that is personalized for themselves and it allows them to use the wording, font, colors, textures that they want to use.
What instructional strategies have been utilized? The teacher directly instructs the students as to how to go about creating the MS Word Art, and then the children indirectly go about creating their own word art on their own with a teacher available for assistance if need be.
Is this a self-paced or teacher-directed media project? This is a self-paced media project.
Would an individual or group use this media project? An individual would use this media project.
What type of learning assessment will be used? Has learning transfer been thought about in your media creation and if yes how? To assess the learning that has taken place throughout the implementation of this activity the teacher will review their media project that the students have completed in order to be sure that the students were able to get a grasp on how to use the MS Word software and that they chose adjectives to describe themselves.
