Brief Introduction of the media project – What is the value of using this type of media project in education? What specific literacy issues will this media project help address? What impact on student learning do you foresee occurring with the use of this media project in the classroom setting? What ethical or social issues might be of concern? Will this media project encourage use of problem solving skills by the learner?: This media project would be extremely useful in education primarily because children would be really into it. Children can make a movie about whatever they want, and they can make it funny or exciting so children will be so interested in watching it they won't even realize they are learning. This project can deal with vocabulary, much like how our class did, or it can be a movie about a book or something like that. It also gives them practice with digital literacy by getting them to use iMovie and YouTube. I feel as if this project would greatly impact their education because it gets them into it and when they are interested they learn the best. Issues to be concerned with would be of course if there are any disabilities limiting them for acting or editing, or if students do not want to work with another student for whatever reason. This project encourages problem solving skills by having them figure out how to shoot the movie, deal with disagreements, decide how to define whatever the theme is, etc.
Specifically identify one or two goals/objectives: For this project, the specific goal was to define the word "Lucubrate" and make it interesting.
Subject matter – What is (are) the subject matter(s)? Does integration of subject matters take place? How has this media project addressed cultural responsiveness teaching?: This project dealt primarily with English, however it would be very easy to integrate any lesson into this project.
What learning styles will most likely be attracted to this media creation? This project deals a bit with all learning styles - visual, audio, and kinesthetic.
What instructional strategies have been utilized? Brainstorming.
Is this a self-paced or teacher-directed media project? Self-paced
Would an individual or group use this media project?: This project is best done in a group. It would be incredibly difficult to do by yourself.
