Currently, eight of MTC's Career Programs have Dual Enrollment agreements with area community colleges (Blue Ridge Community College and Dabney Lancaster Community College).  We have been in contact with J Sargeant Reynolds Community College about developing a dual enrollment program for our Fire and Rescue students.  'JSarge' is the only community college in VA with a full firefighter associates program.  Their requirements are much more restrictive than the other colleges which may make it prohibitive for us to enter in to an agreement.  We remain hopeful, though, that these issues can be worked out.

In the meantime, we have an agreement with a private college in Roanoke - Jefferson College of Health Sciences.  They will give articulated credit to our Fire and Rescue students and they do exempt these students from some of their classes.  Currently, two of our graduates are enrolled at Jefferson College and are working on earning a Bachelor of Science in Emergency Services.
