1. Two graduates have been employed for over a year by Rockingham County Fire & Rescue. These two students started their recruit schools the week following graduation from the program. One of these graduates was recognized with a Woodmen of the World LifeSaver Award -as he saved the life of a person when he was the first on the scene. (see attached)
2. Two other students are working for a commercial ambulance service as a result of their training.
3. One graduate is working part time for Augusta County Fire & Rescue as a fire fighter / EMT and attending community college.
4. Two other students who graduated this past year are enrolled in college for a 4 year Bachelors degree. Upon completion they will be nationally Registered Paramedics with a Bachelor's degree in Fire Science. One of these students parents wrote a letter to the instructor addressing the impact MTC's Fire and Rescue program has had on his son's life. (attached)
