Artifact 49 - evidence of extra help offered before/after/during school

1.  Mr. Peer will meet students early, before class, if they have questions or need extra help.

2.  Mr. Peer visits all fire stations where students volunteer and also makes sure the career firefighters are able and willing to help the Fire and Rescue students who volunteer at their stations.

3.  Mr. Peer had all but one of his students pass their Firefighter I exam this year.  He has volunteered to stay after school to help the one student who needs to retake the test.  He has made numerous phone calls on this student's behalf so that he can quickly retake the test and become a certified Firefighter.

Artifact 50 - homework policy (program or school)

Homework Policy

Homework will be randomly assigned.  There will be open book chapter quizzes given for most all of the fire fighter I chapters in the IFSTA 5th edition text.  Due to the job responsibilities in this career field promptness and responsibility are important.  Students who fail to turn in homework on time are subject to a 10% grade penalty for each day they are late.  This 10% will be deducted from the grade received on the homework assignment.  Other homework assignments may be given as deemed necessary by the instructor.
