As the events coordination intern in the IU School of Liberal Arts Office of Development and External Affairs, I assist in the coordination and execution of events throughout the year. Some of the events and outcomes are outlined below.
Student Ambassador Program
The Student Ambassador Program for the IU School of Liberal Arts is a volunteer, application based program that invites students of Liberal Arts to assist in the execution of events for the school, community, and alumni. This allows students to network with faculty, staff, and our distinguished alumni. Through this internship, I have mandated the application process, orientation, event sign-up, and event execution.
Sabbatical Speaker Series
Once faculty/staff return from their research or sabbatical, we invite them to host a small conversation on their experiences. I organize around 12 talks a year and organize, staff, and plan the event.
28th Joseph T. Taylor Symposium
This year's theme was "It's Not Foreign, It is U.S." We spent the year focusing on the importance of international relations and international policy. The symposium had over 400 attendees and three sessions with a total of 15 panelists and speakers.
Celebration of Scholarship
The Celebration of Scholarship is an Honors Convocation that invites students receiving scholarships from the School of Liberal Arts and their donors to personally interact with the donors supporting them.
