Studying Abroad, 2016

Experiences in Denmark, Sweden, and Germany.

Copenhagen, Denmark

Copenhagen is where I spent the majorit of the 8 weeks I spent in Europe. This is where I kept an apartment, took most of my classes, and learned the city. I fell in love with the old-world beauty of Copenhagen, walking on cobblestone streets every day to take the train to classes. My Danish wasn't great, but I reveled in being able to use the words I had. Copenhagen is where I have the most love for my travel.

Bornholm, Denmark

Bornholm is a small island off of mainland Denmark. When I say small island, I'm really serious about it. We biked from one side to the other in a single weekend. The island was beautiful, to say the least. The pictures will be sorely missed.

Stockholm, Sweden

A weekend trip to Sweden was easy. Traveling alone is not nearly as terrifying as I thought it would be, but the effect it has on your independance and confidence is the reason I suggest it to every person who is thinking about studying abroad.

Munich, Germany

I think that Munich may have given me the most memories of studying abroad. While I expected a "tourist" vibe from the city, the local traditions are impossible to miss throughout the city. If you're ever in Germany, be sure to stop by the freshest food market in the world and float across the longest man-made "lazy river" in Europe.

Coming Home

Coming home was easily the most memorable experience of my trip, but not necessarily for good reasons. The night before flying home, I had my hotel broken into and everything stolen: passport, laptop, shoes, clothes... an experience I don't wish upon anyone. I talk about it a lot on my blog (linked on the page) and highly suggest reading about how to deal with crisis before leaving.
