The course introduces the students to HTML programming techniques to design web pages and to create contemporary web applications. These applications can include, but are not limited to creating tables and form processing. Also an overview of e-commerce and introduction to other applications and techniques will be covered that reflect current trends in Web design and use.

The course will cover evolution of the web, Basics of HTML5, Configuring color and text with CSS, Working with visual elements and graphics, Web design, page layout, Database Concepts, Tables and forms, E-Commerce, and Basics of JavaScript

Web Programming with Dr. Challa has been one of the most beneficial ISYS classes to me while at Longwood. In class, he will teach us the concepts of whatever the chapter is and then make us do hands-on assignments which help us to actually learn how to program. One project that we have been working on in this class is coding a website in HTML, CSS, and Javascript from scratch. This project is very similar to this website, except this portfolio was made using a GUI and not coding from scratch. Below is a screen shot of a website that I have started to make for that class. It is still in a rough draft form, but you will still be able to see the progress of what this class has taught me so far.
