Student Testing Proceedures

  • Student must show a valid MSC ID or other government-issued photo ID before test will be administered.
  • Student must provide course information (instructor's name, course name or ID, exam name or number) to receive test.
  • Student must sign-in and list all the correct information before testing.
  • Student must bring all materials necessary for testing:  i.e, calculators, Blue Book, photo ID, Scantron, Pencils, etc.
  • Nothing will be allowed in the testing area which is not included in instructor's directions for taking the test.
  • No electronic devices will be allowed in the testing area.
  • No children or non-testers will be allowed in the testing area.
  • No talking will be allowed in the testing area.
  • Tests are assumed to be closed book and closed notes unless otherwise specified on the Request Form.  If instructions are not specific, students will not be allowed use of any aids while testing.
  • The Testing Centers will not be responsible for any personal property.  The Testing Centers will provide a location for articles such as a small purse.  If a student must bring a laptop or other valuables, it will need to be left in the proctor's office.
  • Once the test has begun the student may not leave the room unless he or she turns in the test.
  • Students must turn in all papers, including scrap paper and worksheets used by a student during a test will be retuned with the test.

Testing Center Policies

  • The Testing Center proctors paper/pencil and computer based tests.
  • The Testing Center will be open on days that classes are in session according to the student academic calendar.  The center will be closed for emergency or weather-related cancellations.
  • Students must check in with the testing center early enough to allow for the entire amount of time that has been indicated on the request form.  If students arrive after the alloted time they will not be allowed to take the exam, and the instructor will be notified.  Any changes must be made by the instructor in advance.
  • The Testing Center is responsible for the security of the exams while in custody of the Testing Centers.  Once the test has been returned to the instructor/department by campus mail, mail, or personally picked up, the Testing Center takes no responsibility for the exam.
