Science Photo Essay Rationale

Context: This Photo Essay was created for GS 4401, Science and Science Teaching in Elementary School in Fall 2007. It was created under the advisement of Dr. Goodman. The purpose of the photo essay was to show students that science can be found in things all around us. The format that it was presented in shows students that science can be entertaining.

To created this project a still ditigal camera was used along with Microsoft Power Point.

Impact: This assignment was used to communicate to students that everyday we encounter science. Students were able to observe the environments all around them and expand their knowledge in scientific areas. This project also allowed the students to use their critical thinking skills.

Alignment:

Standard 15: Indicator 1 - This indicator was met by showing students real world applications that they can all see in their everyday lives. The pictures come from objects and environments that surround them. Every student can easily create this project in any environment.
