Standard: H.1G.5a - Determine the missing dimensions, angles or area of quadrilaterals and triangles including composite shapes and shaded regions.
The post-assessment tested the students on the same skills as the pre-assessment. The post-assessment was given on Friday, November 18, which is the last day before Parent Conferences and Thanksgiving Break.
One student in the class did not take the pre-assessment and the post-assessment. Two other students were absent, and did not take the post-assessment.
Overall the class improved on the post-assessment, but there were five students who did not improve on the post-assessment. There were three students received a perfect score on the post-assessment. I noticed on the post-assessment that some students incorrectly labeled the units, and did not write the area formula. On the post-assessment majority of the students were able to answer correctly the front page. In comparison to the pre-assessment more students attempted the back page of the post-assessment, since we have covered these concepts in the unit. I noticed that the students were able to identify the key area concepts of the unit, but struggled in correctly labeling units and confusing some area formulas with different figures.
