Week of 11/8 - 11/12

Last week was a great week! The debates were awesome! We have some GREAT candidates for president. This week we are going to to continue down the campain trail while learning about primaries and caucuses and how they affect the election process. We will also begin our fund raising campaign as well as creating commericals, bumper stickers, lawn signs etc. We will also analyze different types of commericals and how they affect voters.

MONDAY, NOVEMBER 9TH, AND TUESDAY, NOV 10TH

BELLWORK

1. What are your thoughts on the Presidential debates from last week?

2. Would you want to be President? Why or why not?

3. How do you think candidates are chosen to run for president?

THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 12TH AND FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 13TH

BELLWORK

1. What are the four stages in the election process?



2. What is the difference between a caucuses and a primary?

CLASSWORK

1. Grab a yellow textbook "Government By the People" and read from pages 81 to 87 Political Ideology and answer the following questions on a separate sheet of paper. This is an individual assignment no group work.

2. Analyze the role of the President via the video "The Presidential Powers." Students will take notes on content of the video. (1/2 page minimum)
