Standard Six Checklist

NC- North Carolina DPI Elementary Education Specialty Area Standards
Standard: Standard 6: Elementary teachers have an understanding of the basic concepts of the arts.
Indicator: Indicator 1: Teachers understand the basic vocabularies, materials, techniques, and thinking processes of each arts discipline (art, music, theatre, dance).
Indicator: Indicator 2: Teachers have an informed acquaintance with exemplary works of art from a variety of cultures and historical periods.

Context:

I created this standard six checklist to show that I have taken classes that have given me a broad knowledge and understanding of the major concepts of the Arts.

Impact:

This will impact my future students greatly because I will have the knowledge I need to teach them the major concepts of the Arts.
