Internship Description

During Spring Semester of 2006 I interned at Mountain View elementary School in Ashe county.  I was in April Trivette's third grade classroom.  We went every Wednesday beginning January 25th and then full time beginning March 28th and ending April 27th.  Some of my responsibilities in the classroom were to help students during their seat work, take student to the restroom, lunch, and enrichment activities.  I taught many lessons during this time.  In Science I taught an Owl Pellet lesson.  In Math I taught three lessons, Pints, Quarts, Liters, Gallons, The Gallon Man, and The Big G.  For the unit I created I taught five lessons on Mexico.  The Social Studies lesson I taught was incoperated into my Mexico unit.

This internship was a great opportunity for me to learn the responsibilities of a teacher.  It also helped me to understand how to speak to students and what kind of activities interest the third grade.
