Websites List for Teaching Matter

Rationale

Context:

The purpose of this assignment is to use outside resources to aid in the teaching of science. This assignment was created in my Block II science course. These websites deal with phases of matter and will allow extra tools for learning for my students when I teach this lesson.

Impact:

The students will learn about phases of matter by using resources outside of the classroom. They will gain computer skills alongside a better knowledge of the science subject.

Alignment:

I met these standards and indicators by using the computer to further my teaching strategies when educating students.
NC- North Carolina DPI Elementary Education Specialty Area Standards
Standard: Standard 3: Elementary teachers have a broad knowledge and understanding of the major concepts in science.
Indicator: Indicator 3: Teachers have knowledge of basic earth science concepts including:
Detail: Properties of earth materials (rocks, minerals, fossils, water, air)
Standard: Standard 10: Teachers provide active inquiry experiences in the teaching of science by using various questioning skills and developing science processing skills (predicting, classifying, measuring, inferring, interpreting, analyzing, and synthesizing).
