Newsletter Rationale

Context:  I used Microsoft Publisher 2003 to create a newsletter for my student-teaching assignment for the fall of 2007.  This assignment allows for me to introduce myself to the students and their parents or guardians.  Inside the newsletter, I gave a description of who I am and what some of my favorite interests are.  I included photos of when I was a child and one of me now.  The purpose of this newsletter is to give a quick introduction into who I am.

Impact:  The newsletter is intended to introduce myself to the students and their guardians as I begin my student-teaching.  It will provide them with some inside information about me, so I will not be such a stranger to them when I arrive in the fall.  The newsletter will include my background story, hobbies, interests, and little tidbits that describe me as a person and as a teacher.

Alignment:

-NETS-TV-C:  Through using Microsoft Publisher 2003, I was able to create a newsletter that will introduce myself to the students and their guardians.  This will allow them to have a better understanding of who I am.

-NETS-TV-D:  Creating a newsletter allows for me to communicate who I am to the students I will be teaching.  The newsletter is also intended for the students' guardians, to give them a background and interests of mine that will further their understanding of who I am.

-NCDPI Standard 16, Indicator 3:  The newsletter allows for me to communicate with the guardians of the students I will be teaching in the fall of 2007.  The purpose is to further the bond needed between the school, its teachers and the guardians of the students.
