Teaching Philosophy

I have been asked many times why I want to be a teacher. To me education is a tool.  It is a tool of construction and it is up to those who brandish that tool to create a positive outcome.  It is my purpose to be an instructor of education so that I will be a part of molding young minds into something stronger than it was prior to my involvement.

Out of all the teachers that have instructed me over the years only a few have stood out among the crowd.  These few changed my life in more than one way.  They motivated me to think and act above the norm in ways that are still beneficial to me today.  It is my dream to be like them and that is why I want to be a teacher.

I believe the classroom should be a place of learning above all else.  I hope that my classroom will be a place where young students grow socially and academically. I hope that they will reflect this new found knowledge back upon their community.  It is important to me to know that I am making a difference.  I know that it is not possible to change all the lives that come my way, but the possibilities to change just a handful can make all the difference in the world.

During my lessons, I will try to combine other subjects with the core subject being taught.  I believe that many students are missing out on the broad range of curriculum that could be integrated into their mainstream curriculum.  My plan is to also integrate more physical movement into my lessons as I feel that younger students do not get enough adequate exercise during the school day.

My philosophy is to honestly be the best I can be.  I look forward to maintaining my knowledge as I plan to always further my education in any possible manner, whether it be classes or conventions.
