Ch. 1 and 2 Scientific Method and Maps

Game Plan for the potential flooding and school cancellations:

If you are staying home today 9/17

-Click on the Make Your Own Summer Camp Map instructions posted in this section and begin working on that.  It will be due on Friday

If school is cancelled on Thursday 9/18:

-Continue to work on the Summer Camp Map and download the Ch. 2 Review posted in this section to study for Friday's quiz.  It is one of my old tests and will help to prepare you for Friday's quiz on Chapter 2.  I will hand out a copy of the review today (9/17) in class, but just in case I have it posted here as well.

IF school is cancelled on Friday, the quiz will be moved to Monday.

Please contact me with any questions: smaddy@salpointe.org

Ch. 6 Metamorphic and Sedimentary Rocks

For the unit exam on Ch. 4-6 on November 18th, 2014 (Tuesday), I am taking all of the questions from my old tests and quizzes that I have posted for you here below.  Since we have already tested on the chapter vocabularly you do not have to worry about it for this test.  Again, I am literally copy/pasting the questions from those 2 old tests into the new unit exam.  Please print them out and have them ready for class on Monday the 17th  when we will go over and review them to make sure you have the concepts right.

For this Monday's Ch. 9-10 Unit test (12/8/14):

-use the review online to help reaquaint yourself with some of the vocab and concepts (answers in the ppt notes)

- ALL questions will come from either the lecture questions OR the Ch. 9 and 10 multiple choice section of the reviews.  The Ch. 9 review can be found on pages 245-246 and the Ch. 10 review can be found on pages 273-274.

Ch. 12 Meteorology

For Wed/Thurs. test please study the notes and the worksheets from the chapter.  Half of the questions will come directly from the notes, the other half will be questions associated with what we have learned in the lectures and homework.

Ch 14 Climate

Please skim through the following article:

http://earthobservatory.nasa.gov/Features/GlobalWarming/

It is a long article, and there is a lot of it that you may have questions on.  Therefore, we will "jigsaw" the article, each person will be given one of the sections of the article to summarize, present, and answer questions about.  You must take notes on your section of the article, and turn them in on the day you present.  This will be an informal presentation, do not worry about props, posters, or visual aids of any kind (unless you get super excited and want to earn some bonus points).  There will be at least one other person in the class with the same number/section.

DUE: TUESDAY 2/24

Here are the section titles:

1. What is Global Warming

2. How does today's warming compare to past climate change?

3. Why do scientists think current warming isn't natural?

4. How much more will Earth warm?

5. How will Earth respond to warming temperatures?

SEMESTER TWO FINAL EXAM

In this section I will be posting all of your old tests and quizzes from the semester.  The final will be cumulative, and worth approximately 15% of your semester grade.  I will be taking questions directly from (literally copy/pasting) your old tests and quizzes and putting them into your final.

Here is the Final format:

-100 Questions Multiple Choice

What I recommend is for you to sit down this weekend and print out the old tests and quizzes and take them "cold".  Bring them with you next week and correct them in class as we go over them. Whatever you got right you do not need to study, and whatever is left are your study questions.
